The announcement of the combination of Syncronex and Ellington CMS is an exciting time for the market and our teams. We’ve done this to differentiate and grow our business, but most importantly, to help you grow yours. Over the years many vendors have left or diversified out of the news business. Not us. We’re doubling down and sticking with you.
This was made possible when Syncronex came under common ownership with ePublishing, who had purchased Ellington CMS a few years earlier. ePublishing invested heavily in Ellington to evolve the technology, features and functionality into a Software-as-a-Service platform with capabilities vastly exceeding most CMS systems. During this time of investment, ePublishing focused on its core business of providing the leading digital platform to B2B publishers. However, Ellington needed time to develop into a cost-effective, modern CMS for newspapers – and when they were ready, ePublishing identified Syncronex as the perfect partner to create something truly powerful. They understood the market benefits of combining Ellington and Syncronex.
Syncronex has an excellent reputation for delivering advanced technologies that support publishers' metering and paywall strategies – while increasing their digital revenues. Ellington’s platform is purpose-built for news organizations’ online/print content workflows and distribution based on open source technologies – with the flexibility and integration strategies necessary for today’s publisher.
We have not stopped there.
The team recognized that the power of combining content creation and distribution with a paid content solution would generate even more revenue for publishers by unifying reader demographics and behavior to drive segmentation, individual offers, personalized content and subscription growth.
ePublishing recently purchased Insight360 – a powerful next-gen Customer Data Platform (CDP) delivering analytics, onsite targeting and offsite retargeting of readers. Publishers now gain intelligent insights directly into their audience, individual behavior and content consumption – and then take direct action through specific overlays, messaging, and offers. We are pleased to announce that this has been integrated into the next major release of syncAccess – creating a single seamless solution that ties your circulation system, content management system and customer data into one unified, actionable platform.
The foundation of Syncronex-Ellington is now complete – and there is more to come. We’re ready to show you how our fully integrated solution can help newspapers of all sizes compete in a digital world that isn’t hindered by slow, inefficient and costly legacy systems.
Our collective group has been in the newspaper business for over two decades, and we’ve seen how it has evolved. We believe the industry needs far more value from its core systems; there are too many overpriced solutions that have features that will never be used or inferior solutions that only solve part of the need. That is why we are committed to providing real solutions that offer value for the long-term.
In the coming months, we will share more about on what we are working. It’s an exciting time.
